Sacred Harmony
A Yoga + Sound Healing + Adventure Retreat

August 24th- September 1st, 2018

Set in the beautiful and magical Sacred Valley of Peru, join me on a beautiful inner and outer journey!

Innate power. Radical self love. Intuition. Health & Vitality. Spiritual & Mindfulness practices. Truth. Connection to Source Energy.

If any of these words above have resonated with you, then this may be the trip for you...

Peru holds a very special place in my heart and my intention with bringing you there is for you to feel fully immersed in immense beauty, mystical and ancient energy & traditions and to take some time to step out of your comfort zone. Personally, I've learned so much more when I give myself the opportunity to step into a new place with an open heart, not really sure of where I will end up or what will happen, but fully surrendering into a space of trust. It is within this space of trust where all the transformation takes place. Some may consider this crazy, but I consider this to be the most courageous and profound experience one can do for themselves, on every level.
If you've ever had a desire to travel, but never felt it was the right time, or you had enough money, etc. (the list can go on), I invite you to put all of that aside, accepting this as an invitation (for yourself) on a deep personal journey, exploring the many parts of yourself that you may have never even imagined existed. This retreat is here to instill a deep sense of Self, a connection to Source so that you may continue to walk this life with an even more open heart and ever-expanding consciousness.

I have included a well-rounded itinerary so that we may all have the time to explore outwardly and inwardly and to relax, both together as a community and individually.

Highlights
  • (8) nights in the Sacred Valley

  • Organic (locally grown) vegetarian food daily

  • Guided tour of Machu Picchu, one of the world’s most extraordinary archaeological wonders and voted as one of the Best 25 Trips in the World by National Geographic Adventure

  • Explore Incan sites and vibrant Quechua markets surrounded by the awe-inspiring Andes mountains

  • Open your mind, body and spirit through daily yoga sessions and connect to the powerful healing energy of Mother Nature

  • Stay at a rustic, earthy and charming yoga sanctuary Sacha Munay

  • Option to explore traditional Shamanic practices using plant medicine and temazcal (sweat lodge)

  • This retreat is best suited for the adventurous spirit and those who are in good health and physical condition to walk/hike around while on tour

Accommodation and Meals
The first six nights are spent at the beautifully rustic retreat center, Sacha Munay, set in the town of Arin. One night is in Machu Picchu, followed by our final night back at Sacha Munay. All rooms have private bathrooms. The staple food in Peru is quinoa, potato, meat and vegetables. For this retreat, vegetarian and vegan meals will be offered while at the retreat center, with lots of the produce coming straight from the garden. When we take our trip to Machu Picchu, you will have the opportunity to explore the local fare. If you have any specific dietary restrictions please let me know to ensure that it can be accommodated during the retreat.

Yoga and Sound Healing
I will be leading yoga daily, incorporating vinyasa flow and restorative elements into each practice. We will explore different pranayama (breath work) exercises, as well as an opportunity to explore meditation more in depth, including a meditation in the sacred site of Machu Picchu.
We will have the opportunity to experience a sound bath ceremony at a sacred archeological site. We will also explore different spaces of silence, including a silent nature hike, encouraging a deeper sense of being able to listen, not only to what's around us, but most importantly, what's within.

About Me, (your retreat leader) Lindsey
You may have had the opportunity to explore my website a little bit to get an idea of who am. If not, I encourage you to do so. I'd say the highlights of my life have been through experiences of world travel, health and healing modalities and friendship. These elements are the most important to me, enabling me to live a thriving and abundant life. Through exploring human and Spirit connection, I've been guided to this exact place now. Here I am, ready to bring a group of humans (friends) to a foreign place full of sacred and spiritual insight (both internally and externally).
I am fluent in Spanish, have traveled to Peru twice before, and feel completely at home wherever I go. I am committed to being the ultimate liaison between us (the retreat group) and other guides, or anyone whom we may need to communicate with during our time together. I trust that Spirit is here to guide and protect us, always. I couldn't feel more honored to be given this opportunity. Thank you for trusting and choosing to join me on this Sacred Harmony retreat!

Travel to Peru
Peru has become a popular travel destination and I advise booking early for international and domestic flights. You have TWO options on how to book:

Option 1:
From your home airport book your flight to Lima, the capital of Peru (airport code LIM).

From Lima book a 1-hour flight to Cusco (CUZ). Sacred Harmony retreat begins and ends in Cusco. Please plan on the day prior to the retreat start date and the day after as travel days between your home and Peru when coordinating your trip.

OR

Option 2:
Book a multi-destination trip from your home airport directly to Cusco (CUZ). All flights will have a layover in Lima. If you book using this option, it may put you at a layover in Lima for one night. If you choose the other option, you may be able to book a flight out of Lima the same day, to Cusco.

I recommend looking at price differences between doing both of these options.
Some helpful tips on finding cheaper flight are: purchasing your ticket late night on Tuesday/Wednesday night. Make sure to browse anonymously when searching for flights, this way your computer doesn't save the search and the site will increase the prices since it's a flight you are highly interested in. I personally like to check between different sites that search for the cheapest tickets. The two sites I use the most are momondo.com & skyscanner.com

The Weather
June through October is the dry season in the Peruvian highlands. It is typically sunny with blue skies and temperatures are in the low-mid 70sF during the day to high 30sF in the evenings. It is best to prepare for all weather conditions including rain, cold mountain conditions and warm days. There will be opportunities to purchase traditional Peruvian alpaca clothing (for warmth) either when you are in Cusco (upon arrival), or when we visit the market in Pisaq (during the retreat). The rooms we are sleeping in do not have heaters, but a hot water bag will be provided if necessary. Please prepare for cold nights and warm days. Almost similar to a typical winter day/night in San Francisco (without the rain).

FAQ

1. What can I expect from this retreat?

This retreat is designed to help you break away from the daily grind and renew your daily bliss. I've organized a dedicated group of humans committed to making your retreat the best experience possible. That means that this retreat is a mix of great yoga, well-planned travel and great experiences. I have intentionally left a lot of space for the unknown to happen as well. This means that sometimes, especially when traveling to places like Peru, plans don't always go as the are "supposed" too. This trip is definitely for a more adventurous spirit. It is for those who are willing to "go with the flow" and trust that you are exactly in the right place at all times.

2. How do I reserve my spot?
To reserve a spot, go to the bottom of this page and click on the link where it reads, "See Details and Register Now". You will be taken to the We Travel booking site. Create an account through them and submit your information along with your non-refundable deposit and/or full payment.

3. Do you offer discounts?
Use the promo code "PERULOVE" to receive $100 off your package until April 24th, 2018. I encourage you to take advantage of this early pricing discount.

4. How do I know if a retreat is right for me?
Read the retreat descriptions on this page to see if this is the best option for you. Please feel free to contact me at linekeke18@gmail.com and I would be more than happy to help you with any questions or concerns you may have.

5. Is it ok to travel alone?
Traveling alone is a great way to experience this retreat. It is a great way to meet new people, relax and recharge while meeting like-minded people.

6. Do I need immunizations/vaccines and certain paperwork (visas) to travel?
It is the responsibility of each traveler to obtain all required travel documents including visas unless otherwise noted. Information regarding necessary documentation is provided here or you can contact me for more detailed information. Peru does not require a visa to enter the country in advance, but please make sure to read up on all other requirements.
It is your responsibility to purchase correct immunizations. Yellow fever vaccination is only recommended to travel to Peru and is more of a concern when traveling to the jungle. We will NOT be in the jungle, only the mountains. If you are planning to extend your travels before/after the retreat and are planning to visit other countries, please advise that their may be different vaccination requirements for entering other countries.

7. How many people are attending?
There is a maximum amount of 16 participants allowed on this retreat. This is to ensure a much more intimate experience.

8. Do I need yoga experience to go on this retreat?
This retreat is open to all levels – no yoga experience needed! I am well-trained to work with all different yoga levels. Come as you are and I will meet you on your journey. A yoga retreat can be a great way to find your practice and meet others on their yoga journeys. Everyone has to start somewhere!

9. What’s included in the retreat fee?
This retreat is designed to be a complete retreat experience. Generally it will include 2-3 freshly prepared meals per day, 1-2 excursions, yoga, meditation and an on-site guide (me) dedicated to creating a magical retreat. Please refer to the "What IS included" section above.

10. What is the schedule like? Do we have a lot of free time? Do I have time to explore the town on my own?
This retreat is a healthy mix of scheduled activities and free time. I generally will offer yoga/meditation classes daily – one in the morning and one in the evening, depending on what is scheduled. There are planned activities that you can take part in or simply create your own agenda and explore town or stay and relax at the retreat center.

11. What is the cuisine like?
Cuisine will be mostly organic and locally grown vegetarian and vegan. My mantra is to eat clean, fresh and local – while knowing what you are putting into your body. The chefs at Sacha Munay know how to make clean and healthy food taste great. If you have any special requests beyond those designations, please make sure to comment when signing up at the We Travel website.

12. When do I receive the trip details?
Upon signing up for your retreat you will get a confirmation email confirming your spot on the retreat. I will send out detailed paperwork no later than 3-months in advance of this retreat.

13. When should I book my flight?
Booking earlier may be a better option, however, I've had different experiences with this when booking internationally. My suggestion is to start browsing now. Please refer to the above "Travel to Peru" section for more details on this.
14. Is transport to the retreat center included?
Please refer to the above "what Is included" section. There will be one scheduled pick-up and return to/from Cusco to the retreat center. If you are unable to make the time, you will be responsible for any transport needed to arrive at Sacha Munay.

15. What should I bring?
I will send you a detailed packing list in the pre-trip paperwork, but generally you should bring the following on every retreat: passport and ID, yoga mat (there will be props and mats available at the retreat center as well, but I always suggest bringing a mat of your own), comfortable clothing to move in, walking/hiking shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, flashlight or headlamp, water bottle and bug spray. I highly recommend packing light and leaving any valuables at home. No need for fancy fancy clothes/shoes. This retreat is a bit more down to earth.

16. What is the currency? How much money do I need?
Please refer to the detailed trip paperwork for (sent out 3 months before the trip) details on currency. I generally advise guests to travel with no more than $300 in cash. You will have the option to change money in town in Cusco where you will get a much better exchange rate than in the airport. I do suggest, however, changing a small amount at the airport into local currency.

17. Do I need to tip? Are gratuities included?
Gratuities are not included on this trip. Sacha Munay has suggested about $80 more or less, however, I would personally suggest slightly higher. I will distribute these tips to everyone that works hard to make our retreat a great experience.

18. Should I purchase travel insurance?
I highly recommend each retreat attendee purchase individual travel insurance for their trip. I suggest that you include “cancel for any reason” with your policy and include medical coverage.

19. Can I come a few days early and stay late?
Coming early or extending your stay is a great way to make your retreat experience last longer. Please note that you may be responsible for your own transportation to/from the retreat center if you are unable to coordinate with our traveling party.

20. Is my retreat refundable? What is the cancellation policy?
If you wish to cancel your retreat you must notify me in writing to linekeke18@gmail.com. Please refer to the "deposit/payment/cancellation" section above.

21. Do you offer a payment plan?
Yes!
Please refer to the "deposit/payment/cancellation" section above.
